The Trikāya Translation Committee is dedicated to translating the profound spiritual teachings of Buddhism and other Eastern wisdom traditions, as well as the vast uncharted wealth of Asian literature more broadly, into Western languages such as English.
Through our translation work, we aim to bring these literary treasures to the world at large.

WHO WE ARE
Composed of an interdisciplinary team of translators, scholars, academics, spiritual teachers, religious clergy and advanced specialists in a variety of fields, from both Asia and the Western world, the Trikāya Translation Committee advocates a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to the practice of translation, which aims to bridge Eastern and Western traditions.
Our group includes experts and specialists from around the world, from a variety of cultural backgrounds and spiritual paths.
OUR MISSION
The Trikāya Translation Committee is an international coalition of talents and skills dedicated to translating and interpreting the oceanic literature of Tibetan and other Asian languages, both classic and modern.
Our team is culturally diverse, interreligious and multidisciplinary.
OUR HISTORY
Seeing the need to bring together disparate talents and unique cultural perspectives together for creative collaboration in the field of literary translation, the Trikāya Translation Committee was formed by Erick Tsiknopoulos in 2021.

OUR TEAM MEMBERS
The Trikāya Translation Committee includes some of the foremost specialists in their respective fields. Our team members are experts in a wide range of subjects.
Due to our high standards of comprehensive research and translation, our committee strives to represent all schools of Buddhism, as well as other spiritual traditions.
The Trikāya Translation Committee conducts research, writing and translation in several Asian languages, including Tibetan, Chinese, Japanese, Sanskrit, Pāḷi, Old Persian, Farsi, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Odia, Telugu, Nepali, Sinhala, Ladakhi, Balti and Dzongkha, as well as Western languages such as English, Spanish, Russian, Danish and Romanian.

If you’re interested in joining the Trikāya Translation Committee, please email us at trikayacommittee@gmail.com with a brief description of your skills, education and work history.
Potential translation projects, editorial work and language consultations, as well as opportunities for collaboration with other committee members, are available for all members of the Trikāya Translation Committee.
We’re currently seeking language specialists and translators who work with East Asian and South Asian languages, in particular Sanskrit, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese.
We are also seeking translators from Burmese, Thai, Tamang, Gurung, Lepcha, Sikkimese, Sherpa and Newari, as well as Dzongkha, Ladakhi and Balti,

The Trikāya Translation Committee takes a multicultural, multilingual, international and interfaith approach to our research and translation work.
By including important but often overlooked voices from the native Himalayan communities and elsewhere throughout Asia, as well as recognized specialists from the West, the Trikāya Translation Committee promotes a linguistically accurate, intellectually well-grounded and culturally authentic approach to the theory and practice of literary translation.
